A silo more beautiful than before to accommodate 276 students near the train station

As of Automn 2018, at the Est extremity of the Warehouses area and South of the train station of Renens, a new construction will remind, due to its volumetry, the famous " blue silo ", implanted along the railway tracks. The 15 floors of this new building will have 276 studios, intended to welcome up to 276 students in a comfortable and functional environment. The ground floor will give access to a recently fitted place along the avenue of the Silo and will accommodate commercial and/or administrative spaces. The construction will be energy efficient. It will meet the requirements of the “Minergie-P” label standards.

To each his own home :

The future residents of the silo will have a choice between a many types of accommodations: the surface area will vary from 18 to 30 m² with private kitchen and bathroom. Every tenant will enjoy full independance, whilst living in a larger community.

A variety of common spaces:

Besides the units to study and relax, the building will offer a place of life meeting the needs of every student. There will be diverse common spaces. On the upper ground floor, you will find study rooms and a comfortable lounge area, equipped with a kitchen. To keep physical in shape, a fitness room is also planned on that same floor. Loggias, slightly set back from the south façade, will form a vertical cut between the 4th and 13th floor, allowing to give more volumetry. Last but not least, a common area of 41 m² with a spacious rooftop terrace of approx. 276 m², capitalizing on a breathtaking lake view will crown the 14th floor.

A link between the outside area and the train platform:

The main entrance of the residence will be formed of a space of double height, near the commercial and\or administrative area intended to animate the area in the lower ground floor. It will be connected by a staircase with the secondary entrance which will give on to the train platform on the upper ground floor. Spaces to park bikes and technical premises will be arranged behind the lower ground floor as well as in the basement. Five outdoor car parking spaces are planned for visitors to the Silo Bleu. Possibilities of car park will be available nearby the site. Two elevators as well as a stairwell will serve the various levels.
